This isn't real. But it very well could be.

Free online book

Publisher Harper Collins has put the entire book "Go It Alone" by Bruce Judson online for free. They're hoping to make money by putting AdSense contextual ads on the pages of the book along with a link to buy the book at Amazon. It's an interesting experiment to see if ad-supported online book publishing is a viable business model.

Sparkle!

Not content with owning a mere 90% of the software market, Microsoft have released their new development app that's set to have similar capabilities to Flash.

But get this - it's called Sparke!!! Doesn't that sound more like a Mattel toy for tween girls than it does a killer app?

Granted, its official name is Microsoft Expression™, which is totally unmemorable.

Thanks to Jeremy for pointing this out!

Google death penalty

An interesting article in SMH about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and what happened when BMW Germany took the practice a bit too far.

Superbowl ads

buglight.jpg

The superbowl ads have been posted.
The gems: All the Bud ads, Burger King, Hummer
The losers: Jessica does for pizza what Paris did for the burger (and it's still gross)
The plain weird: What's with those Go Daddy ads?

See the ads here.
